What are ACES School Based Mental Health/Social Work Services?


ACES school based social work services address the emotional, behavioral, and / or mental health needs of students. These services provide additional support and resources to school staff and families. Districts can contract for school social work
services through ACES. 

The School Social Worker may work with any student in response to common daily occurrences or crisis situations that may
arise. Social workers may work individually or in groups with written parental consent. 


School based mental health services can include: 

* Early intervention for students and families 

* Training for families and school staff 

* Help schools in planning intervention strategies
 
* Monitor student success 

* Liaison between family, school and all agencies involved 

* Refer child/family to additional services 

* Continually evaluate progress and need for additional ACES services
