Summer Family Fun
A good way to build positive memories with your children is to enhance positive family relationships. Summer is a great time to spend quality time together.
Here are a few ideas that are free or lo cost.
*Grow a vegetable or flower garden *Camp--in the back yard *Go on a neighborhood scavenger hunt * Have a neighborhood BBQ *Visit a nature center,
museum, or zoo * Watch the stars--look for constellations *Go on a hike, have a picnic in the park, etc. * Wash cars or toy cars together
*Have Family Fun Night--play board games, play cards, dice, watch a movie * Watch clouds & find shapes, catch butterflies or other insects (lightening bugs)
*Olympic day – hula hoop contest, egg toss, Frisbee golf, 3 legged race, any sport activity *Have a backyard water fight--a fun, safe activity for those hot,
humid summer days *Bubble blowing contest--who can blow the biggest bubble, how far can they travel, etc. *Make a water slide--use a tarp, shower
curtain, heavy duty plastic, have a water balloon fight *Call local libraries, swimming pools, bowling allies, skating rinks or movie theatres for special
